If you're a fan of Marvel Comic books, then you surely know that Captain America is the true heart of The Avengers… but what if he didn't need the others? I mean, he's proven himself worthy enough to weird Mjolnir (Thor's hammer) previously and anyone can use Tony Stark's Iron Man technology, so… fantastic customizer
Nikejerk decided to see what would happen if Cap cut the others out of the picture! The piece is called "Captain Thor-Man," created out of a Plastic Booty's "Thor" resin figure (seen
HERE). And while I could go on about this stunning creation, why not let the artist himself inform us of how he made it:
Since it was going to be more than just Thor I didn't think the head offered much in terms of design so I cut off the old head and added an articulated one that I sculpted from scratch. I used a 3A arm joint from a Dropcloth for the neck articulation. I also cut off the left arm with the palm spread and sculpted a second arm that would match the right arm so he could hold Cap's shield and Thor's Hammer. I made it so both arms could be interchangeable using magnets and the original arm was designed to be an armored Iron Man arm. The hemet is a mash up of Thor and Captain America's typical head gear as is his uniform. His cape is removable and I made it so his shield could be attached to his back while donning the Iron Man arm. I also created a custom box as well as an accordion process book showing what and how I did things. All in all a huge project.
A huge project to be sure. But a truly worthy undertaking for this talented artist as well!
