inspired by Sol Yurick's 1965 novel "The Warriors" about New York City street gangs, customizer Patrick Wong created this 7-inch tall Dude figure into "Alastair of the Dominators." Clothed in a stylish gang attire — orange monkey jackets, brown hats, and sneakers — this custom piece is pretty cleanly painted, though there are a couple spots where you can see the paint having strayed off the mark. But the cutting out of the eyes, reflecting "the emptiness inside the rotocast figure," is just the perfect little touch. This one-of-a-kind piece of art is a contribution to the previously announced "Custom Toy Show" at Dream In Plastic.
The "Custom Toy Show" group exhibition will open on June 8th and be on display until July 12th, 2013 at Dream In Plastic, 177 Main St., Beacon, NY 12508.
