Scott W. over at Shinbone Creative is always coming up with some of the coolest 3D designed monsters around, and recently, he created a new piece entitled "Crittersaurus" - which by the way is up for grabs in his online shop HERE as a fine art print! "Crittersaurus finds himself in a strange town, with no friends. Gently, he meanders from street to street, taking in the new sights and sounds, hopeful that, at last, he's found a place to call home. Scott Wetterschneider's giant, strange beasts are not your run-of-the-mill kaiju. They forgo violence, are often ill-at-ease, and do their best to keep a low profile. Accidents do happen, so be cautious." Measuring 12" x 12", this fine art print on 16" x 16" heavyweight archival matte paper can be yours for only $40 a pop. Pocket change for some... and think of how happy your walls will be with this hanging from them!

After creating the 'Pop Up Funk' book (posted HERE) with Jim Mahfood in 2013, Rosston Micah Meyer reached out to other artists asking them to participate in a new project with the same simple concept; making pop up versions of their artwork... and they got some heavy hitter involved this go around!!! The second art popup book created by Poposition Press, The Pop Up Art Book, is a first of its kind art book featuring contemporary artists’ work displayed in a dimensional pop up format.

The Pop Up Art Book brings together some of the most creative minds from street art, comic books, illustration, fine art and other mediums. The book includes artwork from: Angry Woebots, Jim Mahfood, Junko Mizuno, kozyndan, Skinner and Tara McPherson... AWESOME! Each artist will have two different pages... 1 page from each artist will be in all editions of the book, 1 page will be available only in the limited edition handmade artist books!

The Normal Edition will feature one pop up page from each of the six artists featured in the book. A run of the normal edition of The Pop Up Art Book will be mass produced at a pop up factory overseas, with an estimated delivery date of Spring 2015. That being said, listed below are the other editions and what they contain!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
ARTIST EDITIONS
The Pop Up Art Book Artist Edition books will feature each artist’s special second page and inner book leaf with artist signature, only available in the 10 Artist Editions. Continuing with their Star Wars themed projects, the folks over at Fools Paradise have just announced their latest Keko figure... dubbed, "Boba" a nice little female spin on one of the most ruthless bounty hunters ever, Boba Fett. This is up for pre-sale via their website HERE for $239 a piece. Keep in mind that with such a steep price tag, you need to know that this is a handcrafted ART PIECE, made in resin and every part is handpainted... not a vinyl toy and not machine printing... so it truly is a work of art. I do like the twist on the helmet design, and the added accessories over the entire body are flawlessly executed. I'm sure you all know why that photo is cropped... but if not, and want to know why... hit the jump for the full reveal of the NSFW photos!

The New York City-based Mini Moi Toys shows off their 4-inch Mini Munny interpretation of Yoda, the jedi master from the Star Wars films. Initially sculpted almost two years ago, this was the very first custom that Mini Moi fully baked correctly… and they have spent the time since refining and working on the design. With these handmade objets d'art being made-to-order from HERE for $175 apiece, the sculpt and paint applications look stellar… though that glossy sheen, to me, makes it look like a toy rather than potentially a real, live creature.

Spreading The Laughter Without A Face: Cesar Diaz's "The new 52 Joker" Custom Funko Pop!

A radically different interpretation than his previous "Joker" outing, which was based on the most recent movie rendition, the above pictured custom by Cesar Diaz is of "The new 52 Joker." If you don't follow the Batman comics, then you probably don't know that the character was radically reinvented back in 2011: his tradition appearance was replaced with a face that — after being surgically removed in 2011's Detective Comics #1 — was reattached by belts, wires, and hooks, and his garb became mechanics overalls. And this version of the Joker is the one that Diaz perfectly captures in the form of a hand-painted 3¾-inch tall DIY Funko Pop! figure.
