This certainly seems to be 'the year' for to-scale producer threeZero, who have just teased — via the above picture — that they will be creating officially licensed figures based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) comics, the Last Man Standing (LMS) graphic novel series, and the Dorohedoro manga. It certainly appears that "Gabriel" from LMS will be the first piece released, though there's no official word as of yet…

Having been a fan of the work from the Frenzy Bros. for quite some time, Ben Spencer decided it was time to team up with them... and they agreed! Ben goes on to tell us... "This past C2E2, I just randomly reached out to Shoji from Frenzy to see if he'd like to have an exclusive of one his vinyl/resin hybrid figures at Nerd City's booth, and much to my excitement, he was totally down! What he came up with was Nightmare, a super weirdo/badass skull/demon faced barbarian figure that ended up being a huge hit. During our conversations, it came up that Shoji also dug Galaxxor and we came up with the idea of a Galaxxor x Frenzy Bros collaboration." The result "Phobos: Interdimensional Space Demon!" This classic 5.5" action figure-style resin art toy features a head that was sculpted by Frenzy Bros. and a body that was sculpted by Ben Spencer, engineered and produced in resin by The Godbeast and True Cast Studio, and hand painted by Ben Spencer. Phobos features 2 points of articulation and comes packed in a traditional bag and header style. This figure is limited to an extremely limited edition of 3. These will be available HERE on August 1st, 2014 at 12noon CST for $85 each... RAD!

UPDATE: Retroband's FOUR "Heavy Metal" Action Figures Available Soon!

If you were unable to attend San Diego Comic-Con and were crushed to learn of the SDCC exclusive Retroband figures, then get happy starting now! In an egregious miscommunication, it turns out that the four figures Aaron Moreno of Retroband created from the film Heavy Metal were simply on display at SDCC! The four figures, finally revealed, are "Taarna" (above left), "B-17 Gunner" (above right), "Harry Canyon" (below left), and "B-17 Gunner (GID Variant)" (below right). Each completely hand-made in resin and hand-painted by Moreno, these completely official 3¾-inch tall action figures with backing cards illustrated by frequent collaborator Gabriel Hernandez (Worthy Enemies), will be available in the near future. Those interested should sign up for Heavy Metal's Newsletter as well as their Twitter feed for updates on the release.

Way back in 2011 we posted up a nice little teaser HERE of a possible upcoming mini-figure series designed by Owen DeWitt aka Grimsheep and produced by Happy Panda Toys... but like alot of toy projects, never saw the light of day... until now!!! That's right, this is actually happening, and the folks over at HPT have been posting little teaser images of some figures in this series... a group of animal assassins, poised to kill and look ruthless while doing so! From the initial pictures, we really like the unique head and body sculpts... and the paint applications look spot on. Another thing we notice is articulation at the wrist... perfect for poseability of weapons! No word on an official release just yet, but we are excited to see that this series actually came to fruition... especially after such a long hiatus!

Within the BDSM community there is a relatively fringe fetish called petplay, which indicates that the person derives desire from acting as and being treated like an animal. Teased HERE and HERE a little while back, celebrating its 10th anniversary in existence, Jeremy Madl's pivotal vinyl platform, the MAD*L, will be released as a special 5" set... in both black vinyl with white deco and white vinyl with black deco! Limited to 100 sets of each, this "10yrEdition" looks absolutely stunning and will surly find its way into our collection! The design is very similar to his previously released mini-resin MAD*L figures that were laser etched... we can't wait to see the vinyl counter parts in person! No word on a release or a price just yet... but keep those eyes open, details could be released very soon!

James Groman's zombie dinosaur mini figures "Vile-oceraptor"&"Rank-lasaurus" revealed!

Ohio-based creature creator James Groman seems to have found himself a new groove that works: Zombisaurs! Yes, "Zombisaurs" is his name for his series of Zombie Dinosaur figures, including the above pictured work-in-progress 3½-inch tall "Vile-oceraptor" and the 3¾-inch long "Rank-lasaurus" mini figures, inspired by the velociraptor and ankylosaurus respectively. This mini figure series will include a third, as-yet-unannounced piece and all three will feature mix-and-match heads! Dripping with detail, these will most likely be produced in soft Japanese vinyl (sofubi) and available from Lulubell Toy Bodega when released.

“Imagine a world where all your favorite actors play in one universe together...” myplasticheart presents Dream Cast : a 1/6 Scale Custom Space Opera, where they invite you to take a look inside the mind of artist Justin Alan Volpe as he plays writer, director and designer to a universe made up of Force Benders, Space Cowboys, and an android rock band The Seekers.

With a cast you may never see together on the silver screen, some of the most iconic actors of our time are set to portray a rag tag group of adventurers and lawmen, all in a 1/6 scale. The stage is set... join them for the opening reception on August 1st from 6pm-9pm EDT at myplasticheart in the Lower East Side NYC. Justin Alan Volpe will be in attendance to discuss his work.

DeathCat Toys, the Designer Toy identity of tattoo artist Johan Bramwell Ulrich from Jack Brown's Tattoo Revival, appears to be preparing a new version of his "Lilith, the First Mother" demon skull/naked lady reclined sculpture. Cast in glow-in-the-dark resin, with production duties handled by DuBoseArt, this is not a simple new colorway… this is a mini version of the figure! The Mini Lilith appears to be roughly 3⅙-inches long and 2-inches tall, making it approximately 60-65% of the full-size version. No word on a release date for these in DeathCat Toys's online shop, but following him on Instagram might give you a head's up!

Jenn and Tony Bot share with us today one of their most recent completed customs. They are calling him "Worm Warrior" and he is a 3" Dunny, sculpted completely out of polymer clay, on a JPK "Angel of End Times" piece... hence the roman warrior head wear. Completed as a commission, this piece, like all the other customs they create, turned out sharp! So much detail on such a small figure... truly amazing! Fiona Ng aka Darthasterisk just passed along a recent custom set she made with a 4" Munny... which was for a client who wanted her to make a custom based on their in-game character from Guild Wars 2 called "The Illustrious Warrior", and she knocked it outta the park! The sculpting on all the pieces she creates is flawless... looking like it's actually metal, where in all reality it's 100% clay epoxy... stunning work! Included with the piece is three accessories as well - a sword, an axe, and a mace! Fantastic work, once again!
